CS lauds central govt. employees’ contribution in isles development
The Central Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committee (CGEWCC) celebrated its ‘Annual Day’ at a function held in the auditorium of ALHW here this evening. The Chief Secretary, Shri Anand Prakash graced the function as the chief guest. He launched the website of CGEWCC- http://cgewcc.and.nic.in/ on the occasion.
Addressing the function, the chief guest briefed the central government employees about the various schemes of the Government for their welfare and advised them to take full benefit of these schemes. He assured the Committee to extend what ever possible help to employees and their family regarding the problems they face on many occasions including passages in island-mainland shipping services etc. Congratulating all the Central Government employees on the occasion, the CS lauded their efforts in the prosperity of the islands.
The chief guest was presented a memento on the occasion. Earlier, the chief guest lit a ritual oil lamp to mark the commencement of the programme. Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman CGEWCC, Shri Bimal Sinha highlighted the activities of the Central Government departments working in these islands and said that these departments are rendering their services in the process of development in these islands by constructing infrastructure facilities and the like.
In his welcome address, Shri A Justin, Secretary, CGEWCC put forth some of the problems which the employees face on various occasion. The function, which was attended by a large gathering, concluded with the vote of thanks, proposed by Shri P K Santosh, Vice Chairman CGEWCC. Later, a colourful cultural programme was presented by the children of the Central Government Employees to mark the celebration.
